Chema Peral
Chema was born in 1985 in Vilanova i la Geltrú, a beachside town near Barcelona. He grew up in Catalonia and now he lives between Angoulême (France), Cusco (Peru), and Barcelona (Spain). Since he was a kid, he used to read a lot of Spanish comics. Then, in his youth, he fell in love with manga and the 80s Japanese stuff. The biggest influence in his art is the ligne claire style from France and Belgium and Cubism. Chema studied illustration in the MASSANA school in Barcelona, the hometown of many great Spanish illustrators. His father was the first person who ever created a drawing as a present for him when he was a kid. That drawing had some magical influence on Chema. He currently loves the work of a lot of artists such as Arnal Ballester, Blexbolex, MAX, Ever Meulen, Lea Heinrich, Magoz, Miguel Porlan, Miguel Montaner, Osamu Tezuka or Ana Galvañ… to name a few.
